An eye infection spread by the acanthamoeba parasite resulting in blindness or permanent visual impairment .

Acanthamoeba Keratitis became widely known in the 80's when disposable contact lenses were in fashion.


Symptoms

  1. Infection by Acanthamoeba

  2. Eye pain.

  3. Eye redness.

  4. Blurred vision.

  5. Sensitivity to light.

  6. Sensation of something in the eye.

  7. Excessive tearing.
